Long Ridge divers win County competition



STAMFORD -- Long Ridge Swim & Tennis Club won the 2010 Fairfield County Swimming League Diving Championships on Saturday, Aug. 7.

More than 25 teams competed in the county's annual league championships for diving. The Long Ridge Diving team was led to victory by coach Jim Bowser, who has been with Long Ridge for 10 years.

Long Ridge is proud to have a number of Junior Olympic National level divers on its team. Team members include Rachel Burston, Sean Burston and Connor Brisson, all winning gold on the one and three-meter events in their age group. Kirsten Parkinson finished with two silver medals; Alex Shabecoff earned two bronze medals and Eamon Mahoney won one bronze medal.
