Emilio volunteers skills at hospital dental clinic



NORWALK


Robert Emilio, D.D.S., who has practiced dentistry in Norwalk for 15 years, has also been volunteering with the Norwalk Hospital Dental Clinic since December, according to a news release.

He is a member of the Seattle Study Group -- which through invitation only -- consists of doctors dedicated to the advancement of team treatment planning and total case management as a the ultimate tool for achieving ideal comprehensive care.

Emilio received his D.D.S. degree with honors from Columbia University School of Dental Medicine, where he was inducted into the OKU Honorary Dental Society. He completed his residency in general dentistry at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y., and was awarded a Fellowship in "Dental Implantology: Surgical and Prosthetic Treatment" from New York University, New York, N.Y. He also has an Obtained Associate Fellowship with the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.

In his practice, Emilio said he emphasizes to his patients that good oral health correlates to good general health.

Infections in the gum, for example, can spread throughout the body and are linked to heart disease, diabetes, pulmonary disease, low birth weight and other conditions.
