Five arrested in Darien home invasion
Posted on 12/16/2009
DARIEN (AP) -- Five teenagers have been charged in connection with a violent home invasion in Darien last week. Darien police say they arrested the suspects Tuesday with help from authorities in Stamford. All five are to be arraigned in Stamford Superior Court on Wednesday on charges including home invasion and assault. Police say the suspects restrained an 18-year-old woman at the home on Bailey Avenue Friday night and beat up her father. Officials say the father was beaten with a club and was treated at a hospital for a head injury. He was released from the hospital that night. Four of the suspects' names were not released because they are juvenile offenders. Eighteen-year-old Dylan Carswell of Stamford is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
