Poll: Rell's approval rating up
Posted on 11/10/2009
HARTFORD (AP) -- A new poll released a day after Connecticut Gov. M. Jodi Rell announced she would not seek re-election shows her approval rating has increased and she would beat all challengers in 2010. The Quinnipiac University poll released Tuesday shows 64 percent of registered voters surveyed last week approved of the job the Republican governor is doing, up from 59 percent in the September poll. The survey also showed Rell beating all potential Democratic candidates, including Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz (BYE'-suh-witts), Greenwich businessman Ned Lamont, Stamford Mayor Dan Malloy, former state House Speaker Jim Amann, state Sen. Gary LeBeau and Ridgefield First Selectman Rudy Marconi. The poll's margin of error is about plus or minus three percentage points.
