Gunman steals man's pants in robbery
Posted on 10/26/2009
By CHASE WRIGHT Times Staff Writer STAMFORD -- Police are searching for a couple who they say held a Stamford man up at gunpoint early Monday morning and demanded he hand over his pants. The 36-year-old victim was walking to his home on Henry Street at approximately 1 a.m. on Monday, about a block from the South End train station, when he was approached by a black male and a black female, said Lt. Sean Cooney, Stamford police spokesman. The male suspect allegedly jammed what was perceived to be a gun against the right side of the victim's head and demanded he "hand over the money and drop his pants," Cooney said. The victim complied and was not injured in the robbery, he said. After the suspects fled, the victim continued home pantless, where he waited about an hour to contact police because he reportedly "didn't know what to do," Cooney said. The victim told police that the pockets of his pants contained several hundred dollars, a cell phone, a green card and a driver's license. The suspects are described as a black male and female, both tall and skinny and wearing dark-colored clothes. Anyone with information is urged to call the Stamford Police Crime Against Persons Unit at 203-977-4417.
