JCC's annual Spring House Tour set
Posted on 04/29/2009
STAMFORD -- The Jewish Community Center's 12th Annual Spring House Tour features eight unique homes including the Virginian Colonial originally built by Isaac Scofield in the 1890s. The home spans four floors totaling approximately 10,000 square feet, with 16 rooms and nine bedrooms. The kitchen is new and spacious, the dining room completely restored and the living room features exquisite Chippendale furniture. The event will be held Thursday, May 21 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. "This is a great opportunity to see a wide range of gorgeous homes," says House Tour Co-Chairwoman Susie Gold. "It is also an opportunity to support a much-needed program that serves Fairfield County." The funds raised from the House Tour will benefit the JCC's Senior Nutrition Program, which provides more than 100 hot kosher lunches a week and more than 5,000 meals a year. "In these tough economic times support for programs like these is even more important." says JCC Chief Executive Officer Gary S. Lipman. Tickets purchased in advance are $60 and are available at the JCC. Tickets for the tour, shopping and Patron Lunch at Rockrimmon Country Club are $100. Tickets can be purchased online at http://www.stamfordjcc.org or at the JCC. For more information call Kim Schweber at (917) 601-7617. The tour is presented by the Center Women of the JCC, a fundraising arm of the organization.
