Roaring '20s musical to play

for five weekends in Stamford





Curtain Call's production of "Thoroughly Modern Millie" will play through May 3 on Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 p.m. and Sunday afternoons at 2 p.m. at The Kweskin Theatre at The Sterling Farms Theatre Complex, 1349 Newfield Ave. in Stamford. Seminar on myeloma

treatment scheduled

for April 17

The Fairfield County Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, in collaboration with the Bennett Cancer Center at Stamford Hospital, will offer a free educational seminar for patients and families on myeloma treatment on Thursday, April 17 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Brace Auditorium at the Tully Health Center, 32 Strawberry Hill Court in Stamford.An overview of myeloma and a review of current and emerging drug therapies will be presented. The program will also include the management of the disease and treatment-related side effects. A light supper will be provided. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is a national voluntary association dedicated to finding cures for leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma and Hodgkin Lymphoma, and to improving the quality of life for patients and families. Free family fishing classes

There will be free family fishing classes at the Stamford Government Center, 888 Washington Blvd., on April 22 and April 24. The classes, which are sponsored by the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection, run from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on both days and will be held in the Senior Center Auditorium. Certified CARE Instructors will teach participants how to fish, and adults and kids age 7 and up are welcome to attend. Attendees will learn safe angling methods, ethics and rules of the sport, and how to identify, find and catch their own fish. Participants will also practice casting, tie knots and make rigs, and use baits & lures. Anglers ages 16 and over must purchase a valid Connecticut Freshwater Fishing license at their town clerk's office or online. All teaching materials and fishing gear are provided.
