Teacher of the year announced (24/7)
STAMFORD — Sandra Carlton, a third grade teacher at Northeast Elementary School, was named Stamford's Teacher of the Year at a Thursday ceremony.
Carlton, who is the differentiated instruction coach at Northeast, is one of three dozen educators who will receive Spotlight Awards for going above and beyond in their contributions to students.
Also joining Thursday's celebration was Joan Hurley, from the University of Hartford Magnet School, who is the State of Connecticut's Teacher of the Year.
