The Stamford Senior Center offers its 1,500 plus members an important service to keep its seniors current on their computer skills. The SeniorNet Computer Training Team consists of volunteers who serve as instructors or coaches for each of SeniorNet's classes. Classes include introduction to the computer, using the Internet, Shopping and Selling on Ebay, graphics, photo art, genealogy, word processing, how to use Google, Excel, photo albums and more. Classes are scheduled for one morning or afternoon per week, consisting of 1 to 6 sessions with five cycles per year. Join a great team of people who delight in bringing seniors into the new technology age.

SCORE, an agency which provides professional guidance and information to maximize the success of America's existing and emerging small businesses, is seeking administrative help. If you are a self-starter with computer skills SCORE can use you. The job would take approximately six hours a week in two three hour segments during the day. Among other administrative duties, the volunteer should be familiar with sending bulk emails and keeping an email mailing list up to date.

The Center for Hope is looking for volunteers to provide home coverage for adults age 50 and over while family members attend the weekly Caregivers Support Group which takes place on Tuesdays. Center for Hope helps adults and children living with life threatening illness or grieving the death of a loved one by providing professional counseling, education and support in an atmosphere of hope and renewal. Coverage is needed from approximately 11 am to 1 pm in the homes of the individuals attending the support group. Interested volunteers should be reliable and comfortable with homebound adults. All volunteers are required to come in for an interview and must complete a background check before beginning the program. You must be at least 18 years of age or older.

Friends of Ferguson Library Used Book Shop is looking for a volunteer to join their "professional" team as bookkeeper. This position is at the Main Shop and training will be provided. Among other duties, the bookkeeper ensures that proper procedures are followed and assures the safety of cash receipts. Position requires approximately two days a week for about three hours each day plus a trip to the bank for depositing. Team support will be provided for vacation time. Volunteer must possess strong attention to detail, good computer skills Excel and Outlook a must - and must enjoy working with others.

ARI of Connecticut, an agency dedicated to helping developmentally disabled individuals lead productive and independent lives, is seeking a group of volunteers interested in joining their clients for recreational events. Volunteers can be from local businesses, community service groups, school and religious groups. This is an opportunity for you and your organization to be creative and host an event such as bowling, beach volleyball, badminton, etc. ARI will provide support with respect to planning and logistics.
