* On Saturday, May 17 at 1:30 p.m. at the Harry Bennett Branch, journalist and writer Anju Gattani will share her journey growing up in Hong Kong, then living and working in India, Singapore, Australia and the United States. This program is part of The Ferguson Library's regular series, "Writing is a Business," which is co -sponsored by the Friends of Ferguson Library and the Romance Writers of Southern Connecticut and Lower New York. * On Sunday, May 18 at 2 p.m., the Connecticut Chamber Orchestra will playat the Ferguson Library Main Branch. The performance will feature a variety of music from Bach to Broadway show tunes. There's no registration required. Call 351-8231 for further information. The Connecticut Chamber Orchestra is Connecticut's longest operating professional chamber orchestra. It had its opening season in 1962, and under the direction of Sayard Stone, continues to book 18-20 concerts annually. The orchestra also initiates and shares programs with school music departments. The Connecticut Chamber Orchestra has performed in Mexico, Spain, Italy, Greece, Poland and the Czech Republic as well as here at home. This program is supported by the Friends of Ferguson.

* Spend your lunchtime on Wednesdays at the Ferguson Library. Each Wednesday at noon, the Library presents Ferguson Flicks fascinating travel and documentary films in the Main Library auditorium. Feel free to bring a bag lunch and enjoy the show. The May schedule is as follows:
On May 21, the film, "Washington D.C. Our Nation's Capital," will be shown. The 60-minute film documents the grandeur of Washington D.C. from the ground and air.
On May 28, a 50-minute documentary about the life of eccentric playwright Oscar Wilde will be shown.
* The Ferguson Library offers regular computer and Internet training classes at its branches. The remaining May schedule is as follows:
Introduction to Computers in Spanish at the Main Branch on Saturday, May 17 from 2 to 3:30 p.m.
PC Basics at the Harry Bennett Branch on Wednesday, May 28 at 6:30 p.m.
Computer Problem Solving with Easy On-Line Tools at the Harry Bennett Branch on Thursday, May 29 at 7 p.m. Find out how to speed up your computer and improve security with some free, do-it-yourself techniques.

* On May 17 at 2 p.m., the South End Branch will host its Haiti Flag Day Celebration. Dr. Steeve Coupeau, author, producer, and New York University professor, will share his thoughts on the history of the Haitian flag. Attendees will also be able to view his documentary, "Human Rights in Quisqueya." The event is co-sponsored by the United Haitian American Society, HAPAC, Sosyete Koukouy, the Haitian American Catholic Center, Connecticut Haitian Voice, CTE, Inc., HaitiXchange.com, and the Malaika Boyer Foundation.
* On May 27 at 6:30 p.m., the Harry Bennett Branch will host "Poet's Open Mic." Attendees can enjoy an evening of poetry, either choosing to read some poetry or just listen. The event is for teens and adults.
