The Stamford Times names All-City spring sports teams
BASEBALL
Player of the Year
Steve Rivera, Sr., P, Westhill -- He exploded on the scene a year ago, helping the Vikings win a state Class LL championship and finish as the FCIAC runnersup. For his swan song as a Westhill player, he overcame early season shoulder woes to fire a no-hitter in an FCIAC semifinal, getting the Vikings back to the league title game.
Coach of the Year
D.J. Mulvany, Westhill -- Last year's state championship squad was decimated by graduation, but Mulvany just re-loaded the Vikings team and took them to a 16-8 season and its second straight appears in the FCIAC title game.

SOFTBALL
Player of the Year
Jen Joseph, Jr., P, Westhill -- She emerged as not just the premier pitcher in the FCIAC this season, but one of the best in the state, as well. Her bat improved her, as well, as she started the game-winning rally in the FCIAC championship game as the Vikings repeated.
Coach of the Year
Karen Cella, King -- The Vikings head coach took a team that had been decimated by graduation, but surrounded a couple of key player with enough talent to get them through a 14-2 season and their second Fairchester Athletic Assoication championship.

Henry Graves/Patrick Green, Westhill -- When it came to picking a player of the year, it was impossible to separate these two standouts, who not only both made the 2009 All-FCIAC team, but were the Vikings stalwarts who led their team to a place it had never been before: The FCIAC playoffs.
Coach of the Year
George Talboys, Westhill -- He's built the Vikings program from the ground up and this year all that hard work paid off as the Vikings finished 12-4 in the regular season, earning berths in both the FCIAC and state playoffs.
